Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides it was certainly not the luckiest chapter of the franchise: the saga with Johnny Depp began to show its side after the closing of the trilogy directed by Gore Verbinski, starting a negative trend that would then continue with the next chapter.
It is difficult to imagine a way to revive the fortunes of the film con Penelope Cruz: what is certain is that, however, what we have seen on the big screen does not fully correspond to the original ideas of director Rob Marshall and the production, who had already prepared a couple of scenes then cut in view of the final cut.
In fact, in the film we should have witnessed a brief return of Pintel e Ragetti, just as we were supposed to meet old Bill again, intent on trying to get his cat to drink rum; the idea was also to give a cameo to the leader of the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, thus following the appearance of Keith Richards as Jack Sparrow's father.
