After days of online attacks following the alleged shocking messages sent from his Instagram account to a woman claiming to be a cannibal, Armie Hammer released a statement announcing that he had decided not to answer the heinous accusations against him and to abandon production of Shotgun Wedding.
"I don't answer those bullshit claims, but in light of the violent and bogus attacks on the net against me, I can't in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a movie in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate supports me in this. and I'm grateful to him " Hammer explained in one official statement published by Variety.
For its part, Lionsgate released a note on the matter through a representative:"Armie has asked to be able to leave the film and we support him in this decision".
Armie Hammer has suffered accusations and insults on social media in recent days due to an alleged conversation on Instagram between the actor and a woman. A story still to be clarified. In the messages popped up online it reads:"I'm very excited and confused to tell why. I'm too excited to hold your heart and be able to control it when it beats. I'm a 100% cannibal. I want to eat you. It's scary to admit. I've never said that before. One. I once extracted the heart of an animal still alive and ate it while it was still hot ".
In the following hours, statements also came from a source close to Hammer's ex-wife, who would describe her as shocked and inclined to believe these messages.
