When Danny leaves to make a call, Lexi allows Shaw to flee so the two may covertly follow him. Shaw wants $2 million for contacting his superiors.

Lexi receives some comfort from Danny’s admission that Reza’s death continues to haunt him and the fact that he has been carrying his prayer beads every day since then. They are ready to chase Shaw over the border after she forgave him.

Part II: In 1942, a group of German troops broke into Cleopatra’s tomb and stole her sarcophagus; some of the men managed to flee, but the rest were imprisoned inside by an unknown cult.

Shaw tries to sell the terrorist Karim Farouk, who was purportedly slain two years before, his remaining antiquities in the present, but when Danny & Lexi arrive, Farouk shoots Shaw and flees while Danny saves Castillo with the still-alive Shaw.

After being detained by Interpol agent Gwen Karlsson, Danny and Lexi escape by parachuting into the Vatican, where they learn that Shaw has fled to Istanbul via church official and Danny’s buddy Chuck Donnelly.
