The Serpent Queen, a historical drama with a twist, uses a modern twist on traditional storytelling to depict the narrative of Catherine de Medici’s (Morton) ascent to power.

On the other hand, Catherine discovers on her wedding night that her new husband is in affection for Diane de Poitiers (Ludivine Sagnier), an attractive lady-in-waiting who is twice his age.

“With her future now uncertain and little chance of getting pregnant, Catherine must learn who she may believe—both within her personal the courtiers and the people of the royal court—while outwitting anyone who undervalues her resolve to survive at any cost,” according to the book.

Drama The Serpent Queen Season 3 Review:

The White Princess and The White Queen on Starz were both fantastic, but I wasn’t too interested in The Spanish Princess. There is regrettably more interest in The Spanish Princess’s Serpent Queen than in her previous self. Sadly, rather than the former, the Serpent Queen resemble the latter.

Out of boredom, I repeatedly checked how much time was left in the episode, and my mind started to go elsewhere. I’m also disappointed since I had been looking forwards to this episode and because this time in Italian history fascinates me. This was strange and seemed more likely historical fiction, but if the content and acting are strong enough, I can put up with it.

Unfortunately, it did not at all make up for it. Seeing as how everyone has different tastes and I don’t want to discourage anybody from watching it, but it wasn’t for me.
