Let’s look at the schedules for the last few seasons to get an idea of when these episodes might be on Netflix. The first season of Bridgerton began filming in July 2019, ended at the end of February 2020, and came out in December 2020.
Due to COVID, filming for the second season didn’t finish until November 2021, even though it started in March 2021. In March 2022, that season came out. From trying to film to release, both seasons took almost a year, so season 3 of Bridgerton might not come out until at least the summer of 2023.

Bridgerton Season 3 Trailer
Bridgerton Season 3 Plot
The first two seasons of the show were in the same order as the books by Julia Quinn. However, Netflix has confirmed that Season 3 will be out of order, even though they plan to adapt all of the books.
The third book, “An Offer from a Gentleman,” is about Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) search for love. Season 3 will skip that book and go straight to book 4, “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton,” which is about Penelope and Colin.
And for those who were disappointed that Daphne and The Duke didn’t have as many steamy scenes in Season 2 as they did in Season 1, Nicola Coughlan has stated that if the show stays true to the book, Season 3 will have a lot of steamy scenes.
So much so that, according to Digital Spy, the actress is thinking about asking for a special PG cut so that her family can watch it. “In the carriage, there’s a scene.
And it’s just that if they’re kind of fighting, then everything gets extremely intimate, shall humans say, but I assume it will be a good scene on the show. I’m scared to think about making a movie, but I believe it would be great.”
She went on to say “So I understand that in that scene, things get very steamy. I know already what’s going to happen.”
She did say that being the main character in the upcoming season is “terrifying,” but she also said that she has “known for a very long time” and has had time to get used to the idea. She said, “I’ve known for about two weeks, which gave me a lot of moment to get used to it.”
“But then, they were like, “Last night,” “The news is spreading. You can speak about that now, but I said, “I do not want to. I’m too nervous.” Once I say it out loud, it becomes real to me.
And when she was on the ATAS panel again for the opening ceremonies of Netflix’s FYSEE Space on May 15, she affirmed that season three will focus on the love story between her character Penelope and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
She told People, Like Lady Whistledown, I’ve been keeping it a secret for a long time, and I can confirm that season three is the love story of Colin and Penelope. I haven’t told anyone since the second week of season two.
I’m saying it for the first time here.’ This came after she had already talked with the same media organization regarding Penelope’s future before the March premiere of season two.
She stated at the time, “I think Penelope needs a bit more time before Helen gets into that.” I think it’s safe to say that she is still a wallflower. She is acting like a businesswoman. Since the first season, Penelope and Colin have had a slight attraction to each other.
