what will be the differences with Russell Crowe’s Zeus in Thor 4?

In recent weeks, Russel Crowe has revealed that he will play the role of Zeus in the awaited Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth chapter dedicated to the God of Thunder coming in 2022, but what will be the main differences with the version recently appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice Leagu?

While no details have yet been revealed about the role of the Father of the Gods in the Marvel Studios film, the House of Ideas lore refers to Zeus as a humanoid being from the Olympus Dimension. This dimension can be reached from our world by climbing Mount Olympus in Greece, but it is not an accurate representation of the beings described in Greek mythology, also because in the Marvel comics it is not clear if and which deity gave life to human beings. On the contrary, in the DCEU it was Zeus who created humanity in his image and likeness.

Another important difference between the two characters will almost certainly lie in thephysical aspect. The actor of Zeus in Snyder’s film, Sergi Costance, is in fact a 32-year-old bodybuilder, while Russell Crowe has just turned 57 and at this stage of his career he certainly doesn’t sport a sculptural physique. This suggests that the actor could impersonate a version older and perhaps wiser, similar in some ways to Anthony Hopkins’ Odino, although it is possible that in the course of the film he even turns out to be a villain.
