High school student Basara Tojo of Hijirigasaka Academy is the protagonist of the anime. Basara receives the unexpected news that his father is remarrying one day.

After then, Basara and the two new stepsisters are left behind as their father departs for abroad. Maria and Mio Naruse, Basara’s new stepsisters, are no ordinary humans; in fact, they are demons. Following this, Basara admits that he was once a member of the “Heroes” clan, a group dedicated to hunting demons.

Instead of abusing his abilities, Basara utilizes them to keep his sisters safe. He is dead set on being with Mio no matter what, to the point that he forms a master-servant contract with her. The Heroes, however, maintain vigil over him. Basara has a difficult choice: betray his clan allegiance or risk losing his sisters.

Things become more complicated for Basara in season two as political tensions in the demon world start to escalate. Even more perilous, Mio and her allies are compelled to answer a summons to the demon world, greatly complicating matters. Basara must fortify himself in order to confront the increasingly daunting threats to his family.

Nine tankōbon volumes including the different chapters were released between October 26, 2017, and July 25, 2017. Seven Seas Entertainment was granted the rights to distribute the series in North America.

From February 7, 2014, until May 6, 2016, Hakusensha’s Young Animal Arashi published another manga adaption, titled The Testament of Sister New Devil: Storm!, created by Fumihiro Kiso.

Five tankōbon volumes including the different chapters were released between September 29, 2014, and August 29, 2016. In the US and Canada, Seven Seas Entertainment also got the rights.

The announcement of the anime adaptation was made in the May 2014 edition of Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Dragon Age. Hisashi Saitō directed the show, which ran from January 7th to March 25th, 2015. Production was handled by IMS. “Blade of Hope” by sweet ARMS & “Still Sis” by Kaori Sadohara were the opening and ending themes, respectively.

Although they are running behind schedule, Basara Tojo & his father Jin are patiently waiting at a nearby restaurant to greet Basara’s new stepsisters. Basara meets Mio Naruse, a girl with red hair, after he uses the restroom to change.

Upon meeting Basara, Mio and her retainer Maria introduce themselves. One of Mio’s services is waking Basara awake the next day. The stepsisters and Basara get along well, and Basara even manages to acquire a family portrait.

While Mio is out shopping, several troublemakers attack her; luckily, Basara comes to her rescue, and the two of them manage to get away. It becomes apparent that Mio is truly a demon when Jin departs on a business trip and Mio requests Basara leave the home. Maria uses her magical abilities to ward off Basara, but they are ineffective.

Mio and Maria are evicted from Basara’s mansion when he reveals his affiliation with the hero clan. Jin contacts Basara to inform him the fact that Mio is in grave danger due to the present demon lord’s scheme to steal the power that Mio received from her dad, Wilbert.

Subsequently, an adversary attacks Mio and Maria on a hill; however, Basara swiftly races over to save Mio, explaining that he returned to protect his family while displaying a picture of them.

Following their official adoption into the family, Basara and Mio, with Maria’s guidance, establish a magical covenant in which Maria “mistakenly” names Basara master and Mio servant.

Mio is cursed with an aphrodisiac after she refuses to kiss Basara’s hand in the kiss of allegiance. To “relieve” Mio, Basara caresses her weak points, but Mio subsequently punishes Maria for her interference.

Yuki Nonaka, Basara’s long-lost childhood buddy, reunites with him after moving to Mio’s school. They embrace in front of Mio & his new class, which leads to even more chaos when Mio admits she and Basara live together.

Despite the kids’ animosity for Yahiro Takagawa because of his friendships with Mio and Yuki, he befriends Basara. Immediately after the end of class, Yuki cautions Basara about developing feelings for Mio.
