Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining by Stephen King, is being made into a movie by Warner Brothers.
Mike Flanagan, who directed Oculus and Gerald’s Game and just made one of Netflix’s best movies, Gerald’s Game, which was also based on a Stephen King story, is in charge of the sequel.
Doctor Sleep was first published as a book by King in 2013, 36 years after The Shining.
It is about Danny Torrance, who continues to be dealing with what happened at the Overlook Hotel all those years ago.
Such as his father, Dan has trouble with drinking and controlling his anger, but he eventually stops drinking and moves to New Hampshire.
He makes a psychic connection with Abra Stone, a 12-year-old girl who is even better at “the glinting” than he is.
During the book, Dan finds out that a tribal group of psychic vampires are after Abra in order to nourish off of her lifeforce. It’s up for him to protect her. Here’s all the information you need about the movie:

1980 was the year that The Shining came out. The movie Doctor Sleep came out in 2019.
After seeing The Shining and Doctor Sleep, people want to see another follow-up. But we haven’t heard anything new about whether or not Doctor Sleep Season 2 will continue.
Fans need to be willing to wait a little longer until their favorite movie comes back with a greater amount of exciting and thrilling content.

Yes. A few months ago, a teaser trailer showed us the Kubrick-inspired parts of the sequel, such as a story to Danny’s first meeting with Room 237 (instead of 217) and the gate that his father (who was played by Jack Nicholson in the first movie) broke down to get to him.

Doctor sleep season 2 Storyline:
This is what the official plot summary says: “In Doctor Sleep, Danny Torrance’s story picks up 40 years after he stayed at the scary Overlook Hotel in The Shining.
“The trauma he went through as a kid at the Overlook has left him scarred for life, and Dan Torrance has worked hard to find some kind of peace.”
But that peace is broken when he meets Abra, a brave teenager with a powerful extrasensory ability called the “shine.”
“Abra went looking for Dan because she knew instinctively that he had the same power as her. She needs his help to fight the cruel Flower the Hat & her followers, The True Knot, who feed on the shine of innocent people in their quest to live forever.
“Dan and Abra form an unlikely alliance and fight Rose in a brutal fight to the death.”
“Abra’s ignorance and courage embrace of her shine force Dan to use his own powers in a way he has never done before. He has to face his fears and bring back the past spirits at the same time.”
Long after the occurrences of The Shining, an adult Dan Torrence, who has some of his father’s less desirable traits, will go to a nursing home, which is a completely different place but just as interesting.
When the traumatized alcoholic goes to a professional for help, he will instead come across a young girl who’s had “the shining.” Danny, as he was once called, will have to protect this girl from the True Knot, a strange cult that needs her to keep itself alive.
Dan Torrance is still traumatized by what happened to his family at the Overlook Hotel in 1980, so Dick Hallorann’s ghost shows him how to put the specters of the Overlook Hotel in lockboxes.
By 2011, he had turned to drinking to hide how bright he was. After he moves to a town in New Hampshire, his new friend Billy Freeman helps him get sober through Alcoholics Anonymous.
He then becomes a hospice orderly and utilizes his sparkling to comfort dying people, who call him “Doctor Sleep.” The True Knot, a group of psychics led by Flower the Hat, lengthens their lives by eating “steam,” a psychic essence that is released when those with the shining are tortured and killed.
In 2019, the truthful knots are going hungry because there is less and less steam. They kill a boy by torturing him for steam.
A young girl named Abra Stone, whose shining is even brighter than Dan’s, can tell this is happening.
She tells Dan about the killing through telepathy, but Rose picks up on Abra at the same time. Rose sends her mind from across country and into Abra’s mind, but Abra sets up a psychic trap that hurts her physically. Rose sends the rest of the group after her to get some steam.
Dan finds out the truthful knot from Abra. Even though at first he doesn’t think he can stop them, he decides to reconsider and asks Dave, Billy and Abra’s dad, to help.
Most of the group is killed, except for Rose. Billy and Dave are also killed, and Abra is taken by Crow Daddy, who works with Rose.
Dan shines into Abra and saves her from Crow Daddy, but in the process he kills Crow Daddy. As a last resort, Dan brings Abra to the Overlook because he thinks it will be just as dangerous for Rose.
He turns on the boiler in the hotel and walks around the empty building, “waking” it up with his shining. At the exact same time, he sees himself at the hotel.
When Rose gets to the Overlook, she fights Dan and beats him, but Dan saves himself by starting lockboxes in his head and letting the ghosts of the Overlook out.
Attracted by Rose’s power, the ghosts attack and eat her prior to actually turning on Danny and taking over him so that he will try to kill Abra.
After she broke through his mind controlled mind for a moment, he told her to just save oneself before the hotel took over him again.
He goes to the boiler room, but prior to the hotel can make him turn it off, he gets back in charge. Dan sees oneself as a child of been consoled by his mother, Wendy, right before he passes out. As the Overlook burns down and the police arrive, Abra runs away.
Later, Abra talks to Dan’s ghost and tells him that she is okay. Dan tells Abra to “shine on” and not keep her gifts hidden from the world.
She informs her parent that she’s been talking to Dan and her father, who has died, and that they are both fine. Later, Abra sees Mrs. Massey, the ghost of the restroom in Room 237 of the Overlook, in her bathtub. She talks to it and then closes the door behind her.
