Nothing to do for those who wanted to see Emma Stone and Damien Chazelle again work together after the success of La La Land. The Oscar-winning actress had to give up her role in the film Babylon, but Margot Robbie would be in pole position to replace her.
No more 'Chazellian' period drama for Emma Stone, which due to agenda conflicts will not be able to fill the role of the protagonist in Babylon, the awaited new film project by the director of Whiplash, La La Land and First Man.
But if an Oscar-winning team is forced to disband, another could soon be reformed: to replace Stone it would in fact be in preliminary negotiations Margot Robbie, which if confirmed, will return to share the screen with colleague of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Brad Pitt.
Babylon, produced by Paramount Pictures, will be a period film (rated R) set in a Hollywood in transition, during the transition from silent cinema to the so-called "talkies".
For now the film is still scheduled to debut at Christmas 2021, but it is likely that the date could undergo some shifts due to the current health situation (part of the film, after all, it would seem that it should be shot in Los Angeles, one of the most affected by the pandemic).
We look forward to further updates.
