EU hard on migrants, money given to other countries to make distance
Brussels, ANI. The European Union (EU) is funding other countries to keep migrants away. A New York Times report gave this information. The report published in September last year showed that the EU gave billions of rupees to Turkey only so that it could not provide refuge to migrants from Greece. It has also given money to the Libyan Coast Guard to check the ships and send them back to North Africa. In addition it formed centers in distant Niger to provide shelter to those seeking asylum.
According to statistics, 50,000 migrants are in Libya and 51,000 migrants have been registered with the United Nations Refugee Agency. Five thousand migrants have been detained. "European countries are in a dilemma," said Camille Le Coz, an expert at the Migration Policy Institute in Brussels. They do not want to bring more migrants from Libya but cannot leave the detained migrants. '
