Red Sonja, Ant-Man and The Wasp’s Hannah John-Kamen will star in the reboot

The long-awaited reboot of Red Sonja, produced by Millennium Films and directed by Joey Soloway. Some time ago we learned that the film will be written by the author of Tomb Raider and The Witcher, and now we also have the name of the protagonist: it is, as announced by the Hollywood Reporter, of Hannah John-Kamen.

“Hannah is a very talented actress who we have been following for years, and she IS Red Sonja” said the director Joey Soloway, who has previously compared the film to The Dark Knight and Deadpool. “His versatility, sensitivity and strength are all quality we were looking for, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this journey together. “

Hannah John-Kamen is best known for Ava Starr / Ghost in Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp, but she also starred in Ready Player One, Tomb Raider, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Tunnel – Trap in the Dark. She has also appeared in series such as Game of Thrones, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

The details of the plot of Red Sonja have not yet been revealed, but after the hiring of the protagonist it is likely that the production will take a step forward and that the shooting can begin already by the end of 2021.

Before seeing her in Red Sonja, however, the public will be able to see Hannah John-Kamen in the role of Jill Valentine in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City and in the horror film Unwelcome, directed by Jon Wright.
