The newest Netflix series “From Scratch” includes Amy and Lino’s love story as its centerpiece, and it had the audience in tears. The American drama series is a heartwarming account of a relationship that was inspired by Tembi Locke’s novel “From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, & Finding Home.”
It portrays the touching story of an American art student whose visits Florence and falls in love with Lino, a Sicilian cook. Everything from children to marriage to family conflicts is explored in this intriguing look at their relationship. Their two households will have to cooperate to give assistance when Lino becomes sick.

“From Scratch” has yet to get a second season order confirmation from either Netflix or the show’s producers. Being a limited series, it is very improbable that the program will be renewed for a second season.
But if it happens, supporters will undoubtedly be excited about it! But since it depends on an independent biography and has a painfully predetermined plot, it will probably only last for one successful season.
The second installment of the series will premiere somewhere in the second part of 2023, if we were to presume that it would happen given the success the initial season saw.

From Scratch Season 2 Storyline:
The series, which includes a love tale between Amy and Lino, is based on Tembi Locke’s memoir, as was already noted. Despite having grown up on opposite sides of the globe, their love for life and sincere affections for one another took them on an exciting trip.
First off, Amy is a law student who chooses to take time off from her course work while abroad in Italy to focus on understanding more about Renaissance art.
At a Sicilian restaurant, she meets chef Lino by mistake, and the two get along right away. But when they make the decision to emigrate to the United States and start a new life together, they realize it won’t be a lot of fun.
Lino finds it challenging to integrate into American society and to pursue a rewarding job in cuisine overseas. The pair is forced to depend on one another & their relatives who travel from their various countries due to an unexpected illness.
The series depends on the real-life experiences of Tombi Locke & Saro Gullo, who tragically lost away in 2012 after being identified as having the malignancy leiomyosarcoma.
The series was inspired by a book about their love journey that Tombi released in 2019 under the same name. From Scratch’s first season introduced us to Amy, a Texas native who moved to Italy to enroll in painting lessons.
By pure chance, she ran upon Italian chef Lino, and the two quickly fell in love. When the two did decide to be married, that they had to make an awful lot of sacrifices. They had numerous difficulties, but their affection and togetherness overcame them all, enabling them to overcome anything.
Given that Tombi’s life served as inspiration for the program, it’s possible that the second season may center on what transpired after Saro passed away.
Despite some small adjustments, the show generally adheres to Tembi’s experiences. According to Attica, the project had a “north star” that began with “young, passionate, erotic love” and then showed how “Amy & Lino were going to grow up and learn to deal with all this stuff with the family”
She said that they were also aware that Idalia, Amy’s daughter, would play a significant role in the narrative when the two traveled to Sicily to meet Lino’s family.
As soon as we established that spine, we realized that anything else could be somewhat fictitious as long as it didn’t deviate from it. The characters’ identities were changed, which gave them the freedom to behave like real people while yet being able to wander around the cabin as they pleased, she said.
Unfortunately, Lino’s terrible death from cancer puts a stop to Amy and Lino’s lovely love story, which had been so heartwarming. When the illness finally reached his lungs after a 7-year fight, Lino made the decision to pass away at home. Amy then carries her husband’s ashes home to his Sicilian home as per his last request.
