Kathmandu, PTI. Nepal has set a new Guinness World Record by organizing the highest-ever fashion show event. It was organized to create awareness about climate change.

Fashion show at a height of 17,515 feet

The Mount Everest Fashion Runway organized by RB Diamonds and Casa Style was held on 26 January in support of the Nepal Tourism Board. The event was held at an elevation of 5340 meters (17,515 ft) in Kala Patthar near Everest Base Camp.

Visit Nepal Year 2020 Campaign

Actually, the event was part of the Nepal Tourism Board's Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign. The show was attended by models from various parts of the world including Finland, Italy, Sri Lanka and Singapore.

A press release issued by the Nepal Tourism Board on Wednesday said that the main motive behind such a fashion festival is to increase awareness among people about climate change. All the materials used during the fashion show were natural, organic. Nepali Pashmina, Felt and Yak wool were used to make garments. Which is ideal for winter wear.

The show was also attended by Kedar Bahadur, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal, and Senior Director of Nepal Tourism Board Nandini Lahe Thapa.
