Every year, cruel and bloody games are played to reassure the district lines of one‘s failed rebellion and to make sure they never try to rebel again. Everyone in the town has to watch as the youngsters battle it out until only one is left standing and is named the winner.

In June 2019, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Lionsgate was “eyeing” a prequel film after Suzanne Collins announced her new book. This was the official start of talks about going back to the world of Panem.
Now, the project will be led by Francis Lawrence, who directed the last three movies in the original series. Here’s what else we know about the project, including whether or not any of the original cast members will be back.
The book takes place 64 decades before the beginning of the first trilogy, and it goes into more detail about Panem’s history. In a statement about book, Collins told THR, “I wanted to investigate the state of nature, what we are, and what we think we need to do to stay alive.”
“The 10 years following the war, when Panem is trying to get back on its feet and is known as the Dark Days, are a good time for the characters to wrestle with all these questions and figure out what they think about people.”
The story is about 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow, a long time before he became the cruel President of Panem. The plot summary says, “Young Coriolanus is charming and charming, but his family had also fallen on hard times. He sees an opportunity for a change when he’s chosen to be a tutor again for the 10th Hunger Games, but his hopes are dashed when he is given this same girl tribute from poor District 12 to help.”
In the Hunger Games movies, Donald Sutherland played a younger version of President Snow. Even though a new actor will probably be chosen to play this same younger character, Sutherland might show up in flash-forward scenes in the upcoming movie.

The movie will come out on Nov 17, 2023, which is more than 11 years after the first Hunger Games movie. Rachel Zegler, who plays one of the main roles in the movie, said on Twitter that filming is now over.

The latest version of the script was written by Michael Lesslie, who wrote the movies Macbeth (2015) and Assassin’s Creed (2016). He used a draught by Catching Fire screenwriter Michael Arndt as well as Suzanne Collins herself as a guide.
Besides the cast, Tom Blyth, who will be in Billy the Kid in 2022, will play Coriolanus Snow. Rachel Zegler, who will be in West Side Story in 2021, will play Lucy Gray Baird. The official Hunger Games Twitter account tweeted yesterday a picture of the two in costume, giving fans a flavor profile of what to expect from the two characters as well as their relationship.
Josh Andrés Rivera, who is also known for his role in West Side Story, will join them. He will play Sejanus Plinth, Snow’s close friend and another tribute mentor. Ashley Liao, who was on Fuller House, also will play Clemensia Dovecote, one of Snow’s friends.
Hunter Schafer, who is best known for his role in Euphoria, will play Snow’s cousin and constant advisor, Tigris. Jason Schwartzman, who has been in several Wes Anderson movies, will play Lucretius “Lucky” Flickerman, an ancestor of Cesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci) and the host of the 10th Hunger Games.
Mayfair Lipp, the person who puts Lucy Gray’s name forward for the games, will be played by Ms. Marvel star Laurel Marsden. Peter Dinklage as well as Viola Davis are the newest and most exciting people to join the cast.
Casca Highbottom, who is the Dean of a Capitol Academy and the face of a Games, will be played by Dinklage. Davis will play Dr. Volumnia Gaul, who is in charge of making the 10th Hunger Games and is both creative and scary.

The story is all about Coriolanus Snow when he was a young man. Snow was the president of Panem in the first trilogy. It also centers on Lucy Gray Baird, a mysterious girl from District 12 whom Snow guides through the 10th Hunger Games. Remember that Katniss Everdeen, the main character of the first trilogy that takes place over 60 years later, seems to be from District 12 and opposes Winter and his regime.
The Lionsgate synopsis for the movie says, “Years before he became the tyrannical president of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Winter sees a chance to change his luck when he is chosen to become a mentor to Lucy Gray Baird, the girl tribute from poor District 12.”
The movie’s director, Francis Lawrence, told Vanity Fair, “This is mostly a love story.” “It’s a love story, but it takes place in a different world and a different time.” In this prequel to the Appetite Games trilogy, which takes place in Panem after the war, we follow 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow on his journey, many years before he becomes a cruel, rose-cutter president.
In this timeline, Snow is a teenager who is the final hope for his once-proud family, which has fallen on hard times in a Capitol after the war.
