ICMR JRF Notification 2020: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has issued a notification for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The process of application for the fellowship will start from 27 April on the official website icmr.nic.in and will end on 27 May. The exam will be held on July 12 in a computer-based (CBT) format.
The examination is being conducted in collaboration with the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Thus, interested candidates can also apply on pgimer.edu.in. A total of 150 candidates will be awarded the fellowship. Out of which 120 will be given in the field of biomedical science in the field of life science and 30 in the field of social science.
Candidates going to apply for the fellowship should hold an MSc or MA or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks. The cut off for SC, ST or PWd category candidates is 50 percent. Candidates will also have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,500 for the application. For SC, ST category candidates, the fee is Rs 1200. PWD candidates are exempted from paying any fee.
The maximum age limit for the application is 28 years. Age will be calculated based on 30 September 2020. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and PWD categories will get relaxation of up to five years in the age limit. Women and OBC category candidates will get a maximum age relaxation of three years.
