CHICAGO (1) - JetBlue Airways Corp (JBLU.O) plans to scale back each day flights in and out of the 4 New York Metropolis-area airports the place it operates by as much as 80% in April as half of wider schedule cuts due to the coronavirus outbreak, a spokesman stated.
Airways worldwide are drastically scaling again their flying schedules as the coronavirus outbreak and authorities restrictions on motion in response to it drives down international air journey demand.
JetBlue plans to scale back its total schedule from a mean of some 1,000 each day departures to about 300 in April, a roughly 70% cut. Flights in and out of New York Metropolis-area airports will decline to 60 from 205 and possible see additional reductions to as few as 40 per day, the corporate stated.
The Facilities for Illness Management and Prevention issued an advisory over the weekend warning in opposition to all non-essential journey to and from New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.
