Kingdom Season 3 Storyline:

The story takes place three years after the Imjin War, at the end of Korea’s Joseon Dynasty.

The first season is mostly about Crown Prince Lee Chang and his subordinates. They have to deal with a strange plague that brings the dead back to life while they look into a growing political plot and rum ours that the King of Joseon has died.

Chang finds allies in the midst of all the deaths and chaos, and they come together to make a stand in Sangju before the plague spreads further. However, they later find out that the plague has already gotten to that point.

The second season also continues to show Lee Chang’s constant struggle and pain to save his folks and be the rightful ruler to save them from this plague that keeps spreading and to defend his dynasty from the proposals and threats of the powerful and cunning Haewon Cho, who is also keeping a sinful secret to himself.

“People who have watched will know, but Lee Chang, Seo-bi, and Yeong-shin are all plague hunters who wish it would never happen,” she told Soompi. “I thought it would be interesting to find out where the plague came from in season three, so we’re thinking about doing that.”
