You will remember well that Loki was the first villain that the Avengers faced in the first film dedicated to them and released in 2012 under the direction of Joss Whedon. Well, after the conclusion of the Infinity Saga with Avengers: Endgame and the defeat of Thanos, fans still wonder why Thanos gave Loki the mind gem.
In fact, an interesting theory has appeared on Reddit that reveals why Thanos gave Loki the scepter containing one of the infinity gems that he was also collecting to implement his diabolical and universal plan. The theory would explain this by linking to Nidavellir, which is the place where the most powerful weapons in the universe are manufactured, including the infinity gauntlet that will then be used by Thanos himself. In theory, Thanos would have recognized that the gems are ultimately unusable by him without a glove containing them and hand over the mind gem to Loki. it would have allowed the distraction of Asgard's army who traditionally guards Nidavellir. This would allow him to invade Nidavellir without problems by forcing Eitri (Peter Dinklage) to build his glove after the carnage of his people.
This theory makes it clear how Thanos' plan had been in place since the first Avengers. Of course it would have taken another ten years almost to carry out that plan by Marvel Studios, but as we can see this theory also fits perfectly with what we had seen in the first Avengers, proof of a shocking coherence on the part of the production.

The next piece of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to arrive will be the Disney + series dedicated to Loki. Then it will be the turn of Black Widow, arriving in theaters and simultaneously on Disney +.
