“My frighteningly clever version”

Last April, the next protagonist of Army of the Dead and recently joined the cast of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out 2, the now ubiquitous Dave Bautista had claimed to have spoken with Warner Bros. to get the role of Bane in a future DC Universe movie, and now the star is back to talk about the character again.

In fact, speaking with Collider during the promotion of the zombie movie di Zack Snyder coming to Netflix on May 21st, Dave Bautista explained the reasons that push him to want so terribly to play the role of Bane in the cinema:

There are some characters that I have become very attached to over the past 10-20 years, and Bane is one of them. I don’t want to discredit Tom Hardy’s version in any way: I love that performance and I love that movie. I’d just like to try and make that character my own. I think I can put an interesting twist on Bane and do justice to the character. Not only in terms of performance, but also in terms of physicality. I would like a role where I have to go back to 145kg just to play it. I could play Bane by not only making him threatening and creepy but also incredibly intelligent“.
