Never Have I Ever Season 4 Release Date, Cast, Plot, and Everything You Need to Know

“We just finished the fourth season, and it’s good. “It shows how hard it can be to say goodbye to protagonists you love writing,” said Mindy Kaling, who created the show (via Entertainment Weekly).

“It takes writers a while to figure out who their characters are. You write a pilot, then you hire people, and then you fall into a rhythm. That’s why so many of the shows I watched when I was a kid went on for like five years too long. But I do think that in a few years, I’ll reflect on this and say, “No, I’m glad it ended then.” But I’m not prepared for it right now.”

Devi is finally starting to realize that boys are not the most important thing in life, which is good since her last year of school is right around the corner.

With the fourth and final season of Never Have I Ever coming up, Devi does have a lot of love and life lessons to learn. Since things seem to be heating up between her and Ben, we have to wonder what lies ahead for her, her friends, and her family.

Michael Cimino, who is best known as the lead in Love, Winner, is set to portray Ethan, the new “smoldering bad boy” heartthrob of Sherman Oaks.

Many fans of the comedy were happy to hear that it would be back, but they were also sad to hear that the fourth season would be its last.

Once seasons 3 and 4 were announced, Netflix’s Head of Global TV Bela Bajaria said, “We are delighted to have two more episodes of Never Have I Ever” (via Deadline). “It’s everything we want from a Netflix comedy series: real, specific, funny, as well as full of heart.

I love that a story about a young Indian-American girl, which I can relate to so well, hits on numerous universal truths that everyone can understand.

“We’ll always be grateful to the show’s creators, Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, and the cast, who are all very talented. And humans can’t wait to show everyone the last two seasons.”

Erin Underhill, president of Universal Television, said, “Four episodes of Never Have I Ever is both exciting and sad because as a dedicated fan, I’d love Devi’s journey to last forever. But just as in high school, all good things should come to an end.

“We can’t wait for Devi’s senior year to start and see all the messes, LOLs, and tears that are sure to happen.”

Kaling told E! before about the fourth season why the show won’t keep going and follow the characters as they go through university.

“Unfortunately, kids grow up, and you can’t stay 17 forever,” she said. I’m pleased with how the stories turned out and how the characters changed. It was a sad way to end. I like this world and how the actors made these characters come to life. It was one of the most creative things I’ve ever done.”

Never Have I Ever Season 4 Release Date

Netflix has stated that season 4 of Never Have I Ever will come out in 2023, but no exact date has been given.

There’s a good chance that the exhibition will come out in early 2023. Filming for the TV show ended in August 2022, so all that’s left is a comment before the new show comes out.

The official Twitter account said in September 2022 that season 4 was coming “soon.” The show has always come out in the spring or summer, but we don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to think it could come out during the first couple of years of 2023.

Never Have I Ever Season 4 Cast

Darren Barnet also confirmed in a video for Netflix that he will be back as Paxton even though he graduated in season 3. He said, “You guys didn’t think you could get rid of me which easily, did you?” This is great news for Team Paxton shippers.

The video also said that Michael Cimino will indeed join as Ethan, a new teen idol who would make Devi’s life even harder. See the full list of actors below:

Never Have I Ever Season 4 Plot

When season 3 ended, Devi looked as if she was finally using that “free boink” coupon that her on-and-off boyfriend Ben had given her. It remains a mystery whether they do it, but if they do or not, it seems like it will have a big effect on their relationship.

Since Paxton graduated in season 3, Devil could try to leave the love story behind and start a relationship with Ben. However, knowing Devi and knowing that Paxton is going to come back, we can expect the will-they-won’t-they fight to continue during the last season. This fight will be made even harder by the arrival of Ethan, another hot guy at school. Could this triangle of love become a… square?

A video preview for the show also hinted at a wedding, but since the main characters are all teenagers, it’s more likely that Devi’s cousin Kamala or, in a more surprising turn, her mother Nalini will get married.

Even though Devi’s relationship with her mom has gotten better over the last 3 years, the family is still getting used to life after Mohan, Devi’s father, and Nalini’s husband died in a tragic accident.

Never Have I Ever finished on a bit of the cliffhanger once Devi went to Ben’s residence to redeem the “one free boink” coupon he had given her as a joke.

She decided because he told her he didn’t wish for her to leave California for a one-year education program. This made her realize she still cared about him.

Devi decided to stay, not because of him, but because she wasn’t prepared to leave her mother Nalini so soon after her father died.

Paxton, on the other hand, is going to Arizona State University now since he graduates, but it’s not clear how he feels about Devi. During his graduation speech, he said that she was a big part of his growth, but it seems like they both have come to terms with moving on.

Lang did hint that Paxton might still try one last time to win Devi’s heart when he said, “The love story is the backbone of the show, and you can’t remove it for the last season.”

Devi got into an elite school for her last year of high school, which would have helped her chances of getting into a top university. But she decided to stay in Sherman Oaks and spend as much as she could with her mom and friends before moving on to the next part of her life.

Trent is also staying at college after failing his final year, but Paxton is going to Arizona to study, so we may not see him again. However, we’re certain that he’ll be face timing with his friend a lot, so Barnet’s facial expression could knock regularly. He as well asked Devi to come to see him, so our main character might be going on a road trip.
