With filming finished a few weeks ago, post-production work for Don't Breathe 2, the horror sequel with Stephen Lang produced by Sam Raimi who arrived on the Italian market with the title of Man in the Dark. Now, with a new director at the helm of the operation, the film is expected to hit theaters in 2021.
Interviewed during his promotional tour of his new children's book, The Wheatfield, Stephen Lang was able to update with more details about the sequel to the expected horror: "It is an extremely isolated role. I spent a lot of time alone with myself, and this I believe that in a certain sense, in a kind of perverse fascination, has played a determining role in the way I interpret it".
However, the actor assured that the public will be enthusiastic about the new chapter: "I've never finished a scene feeling like I forgot something to investigate. We really worked with the intention of achieving everything we could. It is very related to the first film, but in many ways it is also and very much a thing in itself".
The first Don't Breathe, Man in the Dark in fact, it came out a bit quietly only to slowly become a hit at the box-office and also win the appreciation of critics; written by Fede Alvarez himself together with Rodo Sayagues, the film was produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. Raimi had already produced in Alvarez the remake of La Casa released in 2013. The film followed three friends who broke into the home of a blind man in the hope of stealing some easy money only to find themselves in a struggle for survival as the man traps them inside and starts killing them one at a time.
The director of this second chapter is Rodo Sayagues, just the co-writer of the first chapter, on his debut behind the camera. For other insights, we refer you to the review of Man in the Dark.
