Sonic 2, filming finished! The director publishes a new photo on Twitter

Keeping faith with the super-speed of its blue protagonist, filming for Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has already finished, having started just a few weeks ago in March 2021.

The film, a sequel to the 2020 blockbuster that grossed over $ 320 million at the box office before being interrupted by the pandemic, already has a release date set for April 8, 2021. To celebrate the end of principal photography, director Jeff Fowler popped up on social media posting a new set photo:

We’ve wrapped shooting in Vancouver! Thanks to all the amazing cast and crew in this city … there has been so much incredible talent that has helped make Sonic 2 truly special (and spoiler alert … IT WILL BE EPIC!)

The details of the plot of Sonic 2 been kept under wraps for now, but we know the movie will introduce the character Tails is that Jim Carrey’s Robotnik will return with a new look, much more accurate than the original video game. In addition, some photos of the set have confirmed that Knuckles will also be involved, although at the moment it is not known which actor will give the voice to the famous character.
