After the teaser released in recent weeks, the live-action remake titled Peter Pan & Wendy continues to shape his crew and now the Captain Hook played by Jude Law he also found his faithful boatswain Sponge.
The Wrap indeed reports that the comedian Jim Gaffigan has signed on for Disney's live-action adaptation of Peter Pan and will take on the role of the iconic Sponge. The 54-year-old actor joins a cast that includes two-time Oscar nominee Jude Law as the infamous Captain Hook, Black-ish and Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell and rookies Alexander Molony e Ever Anderson, the latter daughter of action star Milla Jovovich.
The young actress debuted in 2016 playing a younger version of her mother's character in the horror action film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, and soon we will see it again in the highly anticipated Black Widow of Marvel Studios such as the younger version of Natasha Romanoff by Scarlett Johansson.
The iconic story of JM Barrie has been adapted many times into a live-action film: just to remember some films based on the fairy tale we mention Hook by Steven Spielberg from 1991, with Robin Williams and Julia Roberts, Peter Pan of 2003 with Jeremy Sumpter and Rachel Hurd-Wood and the most recent, Pan, released in 2016 by Joe Wright with Hugh Jackman. Peter Pan & Wendy will be directed by David Lowery.
As confirmed on Disney Investor Day, the film will be released directly on the streaming on demand service Disney Plus along with the live-action remake of Pinocchio di Robert Zemeckis.
