Planned Parenthood – Last Working Abortion Clinic In Missouri May Have To Close Down!

2019 saw six states in the United States of America passing laws that included restricting its citizens from carrying out abortion procedures.

Planned Parenthood has been offering both its support and services to the women of Missouri since 1973.

As their annual license is soon to expire by May 31st, they contacted the Missouri health department to which they responded in the negative by refusing to renew said annual license.

If the license does not renew, Missouri to attain as the first-ever state in the country to not have a single abortion clinic.

In which case, Planned Parenthood would offer non-abortion services to their patients.

For the renewal to take place, the Health Department had some demands that needed to be followed.

They craved to interview the physicians who lead out the abortions, obliged them to regulate who issued the counseling mandated by the state, had them include an additional pelvic exam before carrying out the abortion.

The primary demand could not happen as only 2 of the 7 physicians working at the hospital were employed. They could, hence, have only the 2 employees be interviewed.

When this was informed to the Health Department, they strictly responded and said that if this procedure is not carried out, renewal of the license would not take place. The hospital made the latter changes in their working.

This has caused increased tensions in the hospital and the employees are working towards meeting the deadline somehow!
