The move was openly discouraged when Apple did it, will Samsung face the same flak?
The reason a lot of users have always been in praise of Samsung is that they have remained in alignment with the traditional smartphone model that sees them keep users happy.
They have always held steadfast when it comes to caving to growing handset trends that have come to affect the users negatively.
The recent reports from various sources indicate that this might change with them looking to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack and other similar modifications.
Further, the statement says that Samsung also might skip all physical buttons from the Galaxy Note 10, including volume and power keys, opting alternatively to work “capacitive or pressure-sensitive regions” which may or may not be “highlighted by some kind of raised ‘bump’ and/or texture along the edge.”
Accompanying LG, Samsung is such few Android phone manufacturers to deny the headphone jack elimination trend that was spearheaded by Apple with 2016’s iPhone 7.
Known companies like Huawei, OnePlus, Google and Motorola all have dismissed the 3.5mm socket from their latest flagship devices.
There may be many reasons behind this decision and they might want to remove the headphone jack for one of them could be to provide additional room for the proposed larger battery in the Note 10and could also be to allow a thinner form factor.
The form factor may not be the main reason since the device wishes to remove the headphone jack as it will always need a place to hold it’s signature S Pen, which is far larger than the 3.5mm area taken by the headphone port.
Will the phone be accepted by the users when it is released? Probably, but will they be happy that such major changes have been made? That is yet to be found out.
