Jessica Wei Li, Ben Haynes, Romeo Renaud, Suraya Sengupta, Daisy Head, and Luke Pasqualino are among the primary cast members who will all be making a comeback.
Additionally, Patrick Gilbert as Prince Nikolai Lantos, Jack Wolfe as Wyle, the demolition specialist for the Crows, Anna Leong Brophy as Tamar, and Lewis Tan as Tola Yul-Bataan are all joining the group.
The Shadow and Bone actors, who hinted that “love, power, and heartbreak” would all be present in season 2 of the show, can be seen discussing their roles with the newbies in the #GeekedWeek footage below.

Shadow and Bone season 2 will finally premiere on March 16, 2023, according to a Netflix announcement made in December 2022. Season 1 of Shadow and Bone began production in October 2019 and ended in March 2020. Then, in April 2021, it was broadcast.
The best fantasy films are here: Bring on the magic! They’ve obviously been working extra hard to get it to us by March 2023 considering that the second season’s filming started in January 2022 and ended in June 2022.
On Thursday, December 8th, Netflix made the announcement that fresh episodes would begin streaming on that date in 2023. The showrunner, Eric Heisserer, said in a statement, “The most amazing thing in season 2 is that we have to advance the tale of these characters that we’d left in hazardous positions at the end of season 1.”
“They have a tone of promise this season. They are forced to deal with the fallout from their acts, and along the road, they want to meet new individuals. This season also sees the growth of the Grishaverse’s mythos and cast of characters. By doing this, the universe is expanded, we visit new places, Novia Zen, and Shu Han, all of which are crucial to the story.” Please start the drums. The next episode of Shadow and Bone will air on March 16, 2023.
Shadow and Bone Season 2 Storyline:
Here is the season 2 plot summary for Shadow and Bone: “Running away is Alina Starkie. She is devoted to bringing down the Darkness Fold and rescuing Rivka from destruction. To some, she is a ray of hope, but to others, she is a suspected traitor.
“But General Kerrigan is back to finish the job he began. Kerrigan is more dangerous than ever thanks to a horrifying new army of seemingly unbillable shadow demons and fearsome new Gisha soldiers. In order to have a chance of defeating him, Alina and Mal assemble two mythological beings that will strengthen her abilities and set out on a continent-spanning quest to find them.
“The Crows must build new friendships in Kettledrum as they deal with long-standing rivalries and resentments that jeopardies not only their standing in the Barrel but also their own lives. The Crows will once more find himself on a path to destruction with the famed Sun Summoner as an opportunity for a lethal theft presents itself.
The second season of Shadow and Bone, which is based on Leigh Bard Ugo’s internationally bestselling Grishaverse’s novels, features new friendships, new romance, more intense combat, epic quests, and a stunning family secret that could upend everything.
Speaking of Nikolai, season 2 will focus heavily on his Siege and Storm character arc. In the books, the Darkling hires Lantos, a crown prince of Rivka who poses as Stormont, a pirate captain, to accompany him into the True Sea as he searches for the Rosalie, a legendary dragon. However, Lantos finally joins forces with Masha and Mal and engages in combat with them to thwart the Darkling’s master scheme. Expect some or even the entirety of this plot to be immediately adapted.
In addition to Novia Zen, we’ll also be travelling to Shu Han the Holgate in Season 2 of Shadow and Bone. Established fans will be well aware of the significance of this location for several of our characters because it is a Kerch jail on the tiny island of Terrene, which is outside of Kettledrum.
Finally, we’ll discover something about Respectively.7, aka the designer of the amplifiers. Freeland teased: “We’ve also really dived deeper into the mythos this season of the amplifier, but also the inventor of the amplifiers, Morozov – who he was, what his past is, and how he links into this world” in an interview with Netflix Tucum. We’re curious.
The Darkling has come out of the Shadow Fold with a horrifying newfound power and a perilous scheme that will push the limits of the natural world to their very limits. Alina returned to the nation she fled with the aid of an infamous privateer, determined to confront the forces assembling against Rivka.
However, as her strength increases, Alina drifts further from Mal and into the Darkling’s sport of illicit magic. She will need to make a decision between her nation, her power, and also the love she had always believed would lead her in the right direction, or she will run the risk of losing everything in the approaching storm.”
Nevertheless, based on what Leigh Bard Ugo revealed to Collider(opens in new tab), it’s extremely likely that aspects from earlier Grishaverse’s books will appear in season 2. Bard Ugo declared “Without including the short stories, there are already 7 novels in the Grishaverse’s. And since we’ve developed this parallel timeline, I don’t think it requires seven seasons to finish that story. We’ll see some Eric [Heisserer], the showrunner—I’m not—has in mind.”

Shadow and Bone Season 2 Trailer Release:
Sadly, a proper season 2 trailer is still quite a ways off. However, if and when that changes, this website will be updated. The 40-second teaser doesn’t disclose a lot, but it does give some indications as to how the imagination action and drama of the first season will be expanded upon in the second.
The Crows join forces with Wyle Hendriks from Jack Wolfe, Alina Strelkov from Jessie Mei Li converses with Nikolai Lantos from Patrick Gibson, there are numerous explosions, chase scenes, and General Kerrigan from Ben Barnes asks someone what they’re willing to give up to achieve their wildest dreams. Sounds and appears menacing.
In addition, Netflix has made available a 25-second clip of the actors—Gibson as Nikolai, Wolfe as Dylan, Tan as Tola Yul-Batter, and Brophy as Tamar Kir-Bataar—wearing their official costumes:
