See Jessica Lange Return to Feud in Season 2 Storyline:

The complicated connection between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford is the subject of a 1978 documentary by Adam Friedman, in which de Havilland and Blondell are interviewed.

Joan approached Bette and director Robert Aldrich with a suggestion for a film version of the horror book What Ever Happens to Baby Jane? seventeen years ago, when her career was starting to decline.

Jack L. Warner, who hates both ladies, joins the cause after being brought Baby Jane by Aldrich. Unfortunately, Joan’s extreme narcissism and Bette’s firm beliefs immediately caused them to clash as shooting began.

While Bette and Joan are working together to get rid of an ostentatious supporting actress, Joan’s personal issues start to affect her profession as well. In order to generate buzz, Jack has Aldrich set up an escalating power struggle between the two women.

A record-breaking third-place Best Actress Oscar for Bette is looking likely. A covert operation is initiated by Joan and Hedda Hopper to undermine her.

If Joan wins, she forces candidate Geraldine Page to miss the event so that she may take the award herself; if Anne Bancroft is also unable to attend, Joan lets her accept the medal on her own.

Joan, who volunteered to present at the 1963 Oscars, showed up dressed as a “silver Oscar.” Joan collects the Oscar for Bancroft as Olivia de Havilland and Bette, who are visibly surprised, watch.

Actress Calista Flockhart plays Swan Lee Radziwill, and Molly Ringwald plays Joanne Carson. Treat Williams plays Babe’s husband, Bill Paley; Joe Mantello plays Jack Dunphy; and Russell Tovey plays John O’Shea. Other notable characters shown in the teaser include these actors.

The showrunner and writer of Feud: Capote Vs. the Swans, Jon Robin Baitz, is joined by Gus Van Sant, Max Winkler, and Jennifer Lynch behind the camera.

According to what Baitz previously told EW about the season, “I continued to look at it as a multidimensional examination of what it is to squander your life inadvertently, accidentally, deliberately, self-destructively, on numerous different levels.”

It accurately depicts the consequences of not listening to one’s own voice, and I thought it served as a warning tale. There comes a point in your life when everything revolves around the name on the gala invitation, your collections, and your social status within a system. In my opinion, the play is really about the tremendous isolation that comes with being famous and beautiful.
