The Korean fantasy drama You Who Came from the Stars, also known as My Love from the Star, aired on SBS in 2013 and 2014. Jang Tae-Yoo helms the 21-episode series, while Park Ji-Eun is credited as the show’s writer. Moon Bo-mi and Choi Moon-suk are among the list of producers. This is a story of an extraterrestrial visitor to Earth 400 years ago, during the Joseon dynasty. He develops feelings for a famous actress in the present day.

My Love From the Star Season 1 Story

In 1609, during the reign of the Joseon Dynasty, an extraterrestrial named Do Min-Joon arrives on Earth. But after saving Yi-Hwa, a little girl, from tumbling over a cliff, he finds himself unable to leave Earth. He failed to catch his ship and will now spend the next 400 years here. Despite his flawless looks and superhuman talents, he dislikes humanity. He has to start again with a new persona every decade since he never ages.

He began teaching this year and is counting down the last three months before he can go back into space. But suddenly his neighbor, the famous actress Cheon Song-Yi, moves in next door. Slowly but surely, he finds himself embroiled in her wild antics and improbable exploits.

He also learns that she is a physical match for the girl he had feelings for in the 1600s. Although Min-Joon tries to keep himself from developing feelings for the beautiful girl next door, he eventually gives in to his attraction.

Following this, we are introduced to Yoo Se-mi, Song-Yi’s closest friend and the woman Hee-Kyung secretly loves, despite her feelings for Song-Yi. When her efforts fail, however, Se-mi shifts her concentration to the performing world. Meanwhile, Min-Joon rescues Song-Yi a than once from peril, and the two soon develop romantic feelings for one another.

My Love From the Star Award and Nominations

The Korean Drama Award for Best Drama, the Seoul International Drama Award for Excellent Korean Drama, and the Magnolia Award for Best Foreign Television Series have all gone to My Love From The Star. There are nine awards in which it is a finalist. The Grand Prize Television Award went to Jun Ji-Hyun, while the Most Popular Actor Television Award went to Kim Soo-Hyun.
