Sort Of Season 2 Storyline:
The creators of Sort of Season 2 haven’t said much about the show’s plot. But it should pick up where the initial season left off.
The show is about Sabi Mahboob, who is a gender-fluid millennial with many different identities. He is a bartender, a bookseller, and the youngest child in a big Pakistani family. Sabi is in a time of change in every part of their life, including their gender, sexuality, family, and job. The show is a different kind of coming-of-age story that avoids labels in favour of something more real.
Jennifer Kim, SVP of International Originals for HBO Max, also said Baig and Filippo’s story is a lesson in how to break down traditional ideas of identity. She talked about how excited they are to work together for another season with HBO Max, CBC, and Sienna Films on the project.
Sort of is a sitcom about a non-binary millennial who is trying to figure out their gender(s) and get rid of identities that don’t fit them anymore. This show shows a non-binary or gender-fluid person’s everyday life and the problems they face.
Between the lines, things happen. SORT OF follows the journey of “Sabi Mehboob” (Bilal Baig), a gender-fluid millennial who is a sexy bartender at an LGBTQ bookstore/bar, the younger son in a large Pakistani family, and the de facto carer of a downtown hipster family.
Sabi feels like they are changing in each and every part of their life, from their gender to their love life to their sexuality to their family to their job.
