Disney may have plans to bring another truly iconic character back to the Star Wars franchise. The saga's official Twitter account wished a happy birthday to Samuel L. Jackson, giving a strong hint of the star's possible return in the role of Jedi Master Mace Windu. A small detail confirms this thesis.
The caption message is as follows:"The party isn't over, it's just beginning! We send a very happy birthday to Samuel L. Jackson".
The phrase clearly refers to an iconic line by Mace Windu, who in Attack of the Clones confronts Count Dooku and Jango Fett with the phrase:"The party is over!". However, the wording of the message seems to be the prelude to Jackson's return to the franchise.
If this were really the case, it is not clear whether Mace Windu will return in a new project that is still unreleased or will support an already existing series. One possibility could be the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
A clue to this could be the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Bringing Mace Windu back into the Star Wars saga could really be the icing on the cake for fans of the famous franchise.
There is even who speculates that Windu survived the apparently fatal confrontation with Darth Sidious, so it's not unrealistic to think of the character's presence in support of Kenobi in the next series.
Among the rumors of these days also the one in which it is explained that Darth Maul could return in the next projects. Meanwhile, the major has another thing to worry about: these days Disney has been accused of not paying royalties for Star Wars novels and other franchises.
