The fifth season of "Supergirl" started last night in the United States with the episode broadcast "Event Horizon", which brought changes in the status quo of some characters and especially to give more importance to one of the key elements for this season, technology among the citizens of National City.
Now, The CW has launched a new promo for next week's episode, titled “Stranger Beside Me”, which shows some of that new technology in operation, as well as new challenges for Kara on her two professional fronts.
As previously mentioned by the showrunners of "Supergirl", technology is an important component of season 5. They already commented that they would have somehow the “Black Mirror” series, to show how people frequently use technology as a form of escape instead of a way to participate with the rest.
Next week, Ma'alefa'ak (Phil LaMarr) continues his revenge against his brother J'onn J'onzzz (David Harewood) while Kara also has an unexpected situation to handle when he gains a new enemy in his own sister Alex (Chyler Leigh)
TECHNOLOGY BECOMES A NEW THREAT – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Brainiac (Jesse Rath) stop an alien attack while William (Staz Nair) investigates Kara. J’onn J’onnz (David Harewood) and Kelly (Azie Tesfai) use obsidian technology to solve a problem.
This episode has been directed by David McWhirter and has been written by Dana Horgan and Katie Rose Rogers. It will air on October 13.
