While Mexico is fighting one of the most difficult episodes of the pandemic, the drug violence left a bloody weekend with 248 homicides, according to data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Security System.
The violent days in Mexico had their epilogue on Saturday morning, when a dozen bodies were found in the municipality of Huetamo, Michoacán.
According to official information, the lifeless bodies were located in an abandoned Nissan NP300 type truck on a highway in western Mexico, so the Mexican authorities came to the scene.
The uniformed officers saw the unit, with Warrior and theft report, on the road that connects Altamirano, Guerrero. The punt contained the bodies of a dozen civilians.
The first indications point to an adjustment of account between the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and the Michoacana family, who dispute the control of drug sales. Before leaving the bodies, a video of the bodies was broadcast.
On the other hand, 14 more people died in various parts of the Michoacán state.
To the violence of the entity, the homicides of Baja California, State of Mexico and Jalisco, which in total counted 51 victims of intentional homicide.
The bleeding occurred for the third day in a row after a violent Friday and Saturday. A wave of clashes between organized crime cells left 77 dead across the country. Guanajuato and the State of Mexico were the entities with the most homicides, each registered 10. Baja California and Nuevo León followed with eight intentional homicides.
In this last state, early Sunday morning, clashes between rival cartels they plunged the inhabitants of the region into terror.
That day, the locals on the Peña Blanca-Comales highway that connects Camargo with the Doctor Coss municipality, in Nuevo León, reported the arrival of a convoy of 25 trucks with the initials CDN (Northeast Cartel). Soon after, they heard detonations.
Soldiers from the Eighth Military Zone, based in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, and from the Mier Barracks came to the scene with the support of the Municipal Police of Doctor Cross.
At 11:00 am, the military column arrived at the site where they found two trucks cremated and on the pavement a large number of hammer cartridges of different calibers.
One of the units had artisan armor, double cab and a square armored guard with a mounted grenade launcher. The other, from a cabin, had an armored steel box.
According to the State Investigations Agency of the Attorney General of the State of Nuevo León, between the mount the body of a man was found with gunshots. The deceased, between 20 and 25 years old, with a slim complexion, short hair and a pearly complexion, presented as particular signs a tattoo on the right shoulder with the word "Valencita".
As a result of the same confrontation, at kilometer 18 of the Las Comitas-El Brasil highway, a vehicle consumed by fire was located, where it was the corpse of a charred man, who wore brown boots.
Although the finding of two bodies was reported, testimonies gathered by local media assured that 25 men died during the attack, whose bodies were collected by their accomplices.
The confrontation was attributed to members of the Gulf and Northeast Cartel, who dispute the control of drug trafficking and other illicit activities on the border strip with Texas.
