Five years have passed after the end of The Last of Us, and after a short prologue, Joel and Ellie (now 19) are back in Jackson, Wyoming.

After a sequence of events that we will not reveal, Ellie and her lover Dina go in in search of Tommy and Joel, and upon their arrival, Ellie witnesses Abby fatally beating Joel.
Tommy, Ellie, and Dina then go to Seattle to track down Abby. They will be walking directly into the pathway of the Seraphites, a religious group at war with the WLF over the city.
There’s a lot more going on, of course, but here’s the essential point: JJoel doesn’t survive very long. So, deep breath, it’s possible that Peredo Pascal won’t fare much better.
Joel may only appear in the first few episodes of the second season before his life is cut off or in flashback later on, with the emphasis shifting to Ellie, Dina, Abby, and maybe even Tommy.
But we certainly hope not! We’re not prepared to say farewell to Joel, & we’re not ready to let go of the father-daughter bond that he and Ellie have. Especially because it’s going to be put to the ultimate test… or so we assume.
The fib Because Joel informed Ellie about the treatment, Marlene’s destiny is no longer his terrible secret. Even if Joel’s motive was love, Ellie is likely to see his actions as a severe betrayal.
Conflict may arise as a result of the five-year time leap and the resulting increase in the number of people lost to the Infected.

It will be fascinating to observe how the reality of Joel’s conduct that day has affected their relationship and how it has evolved and grown over the years.

Recently, Bella Ramsey discussed the effect on Ellie’s attachment to Joel and how the show plans to explore Ellie and Dina’s romance in season two.
I’ve seen a pieced-together version of the narrative of Ellie and Dina’s romance, and it’s wonderful. I have no idea how they do it. During an interview for the Happy Sad Confused podcast, she remarked, “So I’m looking forward to play that out.”

In general, this is a solid port of the original game. The first episode is essentially the first chapter of the game expanded upon somewhat.
I liked how there were more scenes with the Miller family building up to the finale. The lady that portrayed Sarah was fantastic, and Pedro did a fantastic job as Joel.
Since the musical allows for more nuanced emotion, Sarah’s death hits the audience far harder than it does in the video game.
The game’s sceneries are also well implemented. I’m grateful for the background information they offered on the origins of the pandemic and on Bills and Frank.
The show’s interpretation of what happened to Tess impressed me. The game’s stunning acting and riveting plot are perfect complements.
