Soon after Season 4 of Stranger Things came out, Netflix announced that Shawn Levy and his production company, 21 Laps, would turn Pim Wangtechawat’s upcoming novel, The Moon Represents My Heart, into a TV show.

Shawn Levy and Gemma Chan, who also star in the show, came up with the idea and put it into action.
