It's time for a new Cinderella, this time played by the singer Camila Cabello. However, it will not be the big screen that will show it to us, but the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform.
There is a new retelling of Cinderella on the way, but at the cinema.
With a move similar to that made on several other occasions since the outbreak of the pandemic to today, the live-action musical starring Camila Cabello will in fact skip the theatrical release and it will be distributed directly in streaming from the Amazon Prime Video platform.
Sony Pictures, which produced and intended to distribute Cinderella to theaters, opted instead to license the film to Amazon (except in China), after being forced to postpone its release several times. This is currently scheduled for 2021, although there is no precise launch window yet.
In film written and directed by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect, 30 Rock), in addition to Cabello we will also see Billy Porter in the role of the Blue Fairy, Pierce Brosnan in that of the King, Idina Menzel will be the Stepmother and Nicholas Galitzine the Prince Charming.
"It was one of those things you feel was made especially for you"Cabelo had previously stated on the role of Cinderella"I couldn't say no. It's really a dream for me ... And a little bit terrifying too!".
