As often these days, it all started with a tweet ... Film buffs on Twitter, and in particular musicals, they choose what they think are the best musical films (with two important exceptions).
Tomorrow is another day, and under everyone's lips there will be another poll/ controversy / discussion. Today, however, the topic to talk about, at least on Twitter, has already been decided: musical films.
Yes, they are the cinematic musicals to hold the bench in these hours, even if the author of the tweet from which it all started wanted to impose two heavy restrictions: no La La Land or The Greatest Showman.
Here then is that the users of Twitter Film (as the community of fans is usually called) began to cite the richest variety of titles: from the iconic Singin' In The Rain starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, Lin Manuel Miranda's most recent hit Hamilton; from Newsies (The Strilloni) to the Rocky Horror Picture Show, to Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter; from Small Shop of Horrors (which will soon receive a remake with Chris Evans at the hands of Greg Berlanti) in Moulin Rouge with Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, and then arrive at Disney musicals such as Come D'Incanto and ... High School Musical.
If you want to know all the films called into question you can always click on the tweet at the bottom of the news and scroll through the comments, but in the meantime we want to turn the question to our readers: what is the best musical on film, in your opinion?
