Why will Sigourney Weaver return in Avatar 2? Let's discuss the James Cameron film

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding Avatar 2 is the return of Sigourney Weaver, starring in Dr. Grace Augustine's first film, head of the Avatar program and responsible for creating English schools for the more willing Na'vi.

Although the character died during the events of the first chapter, the presence of the Weaver in the cast has been confirmed for some time now. What has not yet been revealed is how his return will happen, but it will likely have something to do with the failed attempt to transfer his consciousness into the body of an Avatar through the Tree of Souls when he was dying.

Judging by the information in our possession, pending Cameron to provide the first precise details about the sequel's plot, it is possible that the essence of Dr. Augustine has somehow been transferred to a underwater creature. This is because Avatar 2 will include a lot of scenes set underwater, and we know for sure that Weaver will also be present in some of them, who revealed that certain sequences were so complex to shoot that she had to hold her breath for six minutes.

Furthermore, as confirmed by a photo from the set of Avatar 2 released in April 2020, Weaver took part in some sequences in the role of the scientist in human form, so unless there are big surprises it seems that during the sequel we will also be able to witness some scene flashback.

What do you think of the return of the character? Let us know in the comments. We remind you that the release of the film is set for December 16, 2022.
