Wicked Games Part 2 Release Date, Cast, Storyline, Trailer Release, and Everything You Need to Know

Wicked Games Part 2 Release Date, Cast, Storyline, Trailer Release, and Everything You Need to Know:

Wicked Part 2 will be released early over the Christmas season. According to a source, Wicked Part Two will now open in theaters on November 26, 2025, instead of December 25, 2025.

The movie, which is geared by Jon M. Chu, features Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The ensemble group also features Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, and Michelle Yeoh, who made news earlier this year by winning the Oscar for best actress.

By now, everyone is aware that the Wicked movie has received the go-ahead (yeah!) and that the leads, Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good Witch and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a.k.a. the Wicked Witch of the West, have already been cast.

While the headlines of the movie has been fairly well-known for a while, we are gradually learning more and more about the adaptation. Exciting!

Let’s review everything we know so far as we excitedly await the debut of what will presumably be one of the most popular movies ever. You can get all the information you need about Wicked right here, includes cast updates, release information, production schedules, and more.

Wicked Games Part 2 Release Date:

The movie will be released as two parts, as Chu stated on Twitter. While this may have hinted at more production problems, dividing Wicked makes sense given the length and format of the Broadway show.

Additionally, Chu simultaneously revealed that the movies will be aired on Christmas a year apart. The first installment of Wicked was slated to hit cinemas on December 25th, 2024, while the follow-up was slated for December 25th, 2025.

However, recent Wicked movie updates suggest that the first chapter will actually arrive a bit sooner than anticipated. Chu once again made the statement that the new release date had been postponed.

Instead, November 27, 2024 is the new release date for Wicked Part 1. Chu also included a glance at the movie’s logo while announcing the news. On November 26, 2025, nearly precisely one year from now, Wicked: Part 2 will be released.

Wicked Games Part 2 Trailer Release:

A trailer for Wicked won’t be published for a time since the film is still being made and there isn’t one yet. Filming might take longer, especially if films are being made concurrently, so it will take some time for the company to determine how much to divulge in the first trailer.

It would be smart of the company to at least release a preview before 2024 so as to reassure fans that there is verifiable proof that the movie production is on pace given the well-documented delays in the making of Wicked.

Wicked Games Part 2 Cast:

  • Christine Spang asHarley
  • Markus Silbiger asKiel
  • Conner Ann Waterman asColton

Wicked Games Part 2 Storyline:

Critics had the first sneak glimpse of Wicked at this year’s CinemaCon, an annual gathering for theater operators, and they are already praising the movie!

Viewers were treated to never-before-seen video of our starring women with Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible as well as iconic Broadway songs like “Defying Gravity” and “Popular,” performed by Ariana Grande & Cynthia Erivo.

There is a lot to look toward after seeing the Wicked video that was given to us. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo both have gorgeous appearances & are singing their hearts out. It seems enchanted. One spectator said, “The set elements are HUGE, and it’s certainly moved to the top of my 2024 list.

“This evil video, @JohnMChu I’m choked. It’s going to be amazing, I tell you. The musical skill of Ariana Grande & Cynthia Erivo is royal. Bowen Yang & Michelle Yeoh were both in it, too! Yay! This will eat me alive, said one reviewer.

Given that Wicked is being split into two movies, it would make sense for the films to conform to the plot and the two-part format of the stage show. Chu has not said how closely the movie would resemble the musical, but if the same music is utilized, they will unavoidably follow similar story beats.

The Wicked musical follows Elphaba & Galinda, who later changes her name to Glinda, as they attend college and share housing. The other students tease Elphaba, who was born green, until the popular, blonde-haired Galinda takes her beneath her wing.

As Galinda and Elphaba start to drift apart, surprise appearances by actors from The Wizard of Oz happen. The first movie will presumably focus on the transition from college-aged ladies to the Witches of the west and north, while the following movie will probably focus on Dorothy.

The conclusion of Wicked draws similarities to The Wizard of Oz’s plot while also introducing fresh details that broaden and alter it. The musical Wicked begins its story later and then skips forward in time. Wicked will have to solve this issue if it seeks to thrive in order to successfully convey the odd story structure.

Thankfully, none of the songs from the musical adaption of Wicked will be dropped, as they all reached the final cut. There will also be brand-new songs that were never included in the play, stated Stephen Schwartz, the creator of the enormously popular Broadway production (via Playbill).

Given this, it comes as no surprise that the adaptation will be divided into two films. Despite the fact that these are encouraging Wicked movie updates, we still don’t know what new songs will be or which of the characters will perform them.

Given that the 2024 release will conclude with “Defying Gravity,” the majority of the new songs may not be heard until Wicked Part Two. The majority of songs that are popular will likely be in the first movie.

Schwartz hinted that the famous song would end Wicked Part One when he said, “That song is written specifically to bring a curtain down. And whatever scene that followed it without a break just seemed hugely anti-climactic.”

There is little question that the fresh tracks will be fantastic with Schwartz’s participation, despite the possibility that the two-part film might be front-loaded.
