If you consider yourself a film buff, you must have seen Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. Simply said, it is one of the best movies ever produced in the United States, a true cinematic masterpiece that revolutionized its field. The creators of the TV show ‘Bates Motel,’ based on the film, delve into the history of Norma and Norman Bates before the events in the film.
The show is a modern prequel to the Hitchcock film, taking place in the made-up community of White Pine Bay, Oregon. The first episode premiered on March 18, 2013, and the series finale aired on April 24, 2017. Outside of Vancouver, in Aldergrove and the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, ‘Bates Motel’ was filmed.
Instead of airing a pilot episode, the network ordered the first 10 episodes of the season in sequence. A&E decided to give the show two more seasons of life on June 15, 2015, making it the network’s longest-running original scripted drama series ever. The series was nominated for Primetime Emmy, Saturn, and People’s Choice Awards because to the outstanding work of the cast and crew.
Bates Motel Season 6 Release Date
It has been revealed by the show’s creators that season five will be the last. Many viewers are still pining for more episodes even after the series concluded flawlessly in April of 2017. Bates Motel season 6 is very unlikely to return at this time, although the series has ended for the time being.

Bates Motel Story
After Norman’s father passes away, he and his mother, Norma, acquire a hotel in the first season. The motel’s previous owner broke in on one of the first nights the couple ran it and raped Norma. Norma stabs the assailant to death after Norman knocks him unconscious. She comes to the conclusion that it would be wiser to hide the body rather than report the murder.
She and Norman end up getting rid of the corpse. He makes things more difficult for the cover-up by retaining the victim’s belt. When the local sheriff and his deputy become aware of a missing man, Norma and Norman must stop them from conducting a thorough investigation.
Season 2 delves more into the background story of Norman’s murdered instructor. In the meanwhile, Norma is forced to make some risky choices in order to save the hotel from being bypassed. Dylan discovers a frightening revelation about his paternity, while Bradley goes to extraordinary lengths in her pursuit for her father’s murderer.
Norman’s denial of his situation and the extent to which he would go to regain control of his fragile mind take center stage in the show’s third season. Norma is increasingly conscious of her son’s mental fragility and afraid of what he is capable of after last season’s tragic events. In the meanwhile, Sheriff Romero is beginning to distance himself from Norma and the Bates family because he believes she is lying to him about what happened to Norman.
In the fourth season, Norma’s terror of Norman grows and she goes to great efforts to get him the care he needs from a mental health specialist. As a result, Norman is having a harder time keeping his footing in reality, which strains their previously unshakeable trust. Meanwhile, Sheriff Romero can’t help but get involved with Norma and Norman again. He marries Norma so that she may use his health insurance to check Norman into a posh mental institution.

Bates Motel Season 5 Ending
Season 5 of Bates Motel centers on Norman’s delusions about his dead mother, Norma. Norman, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder, stores Norma’s corpse in the basement because he is convinced that she staged her own death. However, Norman learns that his mother has passed away, and this news drives him even more crazy.
Norman’s brother Dylan had to kill him at the conclusion of the show when he pulled a knife on him. Even in death, Norman and Norma remain together.
This awful conclusion doesn’t call for any more exploration. It ends well, and even if there were a second season, what would the plot be about now that Norman and Norma are dead?
