Based on Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, “Big Little Lies” is an HBO series created by David E. Kelley and told from the points of view of five mothers living in a privileged neighborhood of Monterey, California: Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Bonnie (Zo Kravitz), and Renata (Laura Dern). After the murderer and victim were identified in Season 1, the second season delves into the fallout.
Big Little Lies Season 3
Season one of “Big Little Lies” debuted in February 2017 to widespread critical praise and viewer interest, and went on to win several awards at the 2018 Golden Globes and Emmys. With so much enthusiasm for what was supposed to be a limited series, HBO decided to order a full season of “Big Little Lies” instead. Season 2, which saw most of the star-studded ensemble back for their roles, aired in June 2019.
The success of the show’s second season had viewers wondering whether there would be a third installment of “Big Little Lies.” Well, it hasn’t been verified for sure, but it hasn’t been denied either. What little information we have concerning a third season of “Big Little Lies” is as follows.
Big Little Lies Season 3 Release Date
Season 3 of HBO’s Big Little Lies is eagerly awaited, but despite multiple previous clues regarding its renewal, it now seems unlikely. Enthusiasts who are still seeking for the third season of the drama have to understand that, with the death of the show’s director, Jean-Marc Vallée’, Season 3’s renewal chance is nearly ended. Zo Kravitz, one of the stars of the show, has remarked that the absence of the director would be disastrous.
Last November, when asked by fans, Kravitz said, “I don’t think it is!” Season 3 was much discussed. Our brilliant filmmaker, Jean-Marc Vallée, died away this past year. It breaks your heart. I just can’t see my life without him. He was the show’s true creative force. It’s too late now, sadly.

Big Little Lies Season 3 Storyline
After lengthy investigation into the death of Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgard), the season two finale of “Big Little Lies,” titled “I Want to Know,” concluded on a cliffhanger with the remainder of the Monterey Five joining Bonnie in walking towards the police station to disclose their participation. The show’s third season may disclose whether or not the Five really made the confession, with far-reaching ramifications for each of the Five members in any case.
Bonnie’s guilt in Perry’s death means that Season 3 will center on the drama surrounding her likely incarceration, legal processes, and ramifications on her marriage and kid.
Furthermore, the season could examine Celeste’s effort to recover from the trauma and grief brought on by Perry’s death, as well as how the verdict in her custody battle with Perry’s mother, Mary Louise (Meryl Streep), over her twins, which Celeste had won in the Season 2 finale, will be affected by her confession to Perry’s murder.
How Madeline and Ed’s (Adam Scott) marriage develops after they repeated their vows at the conclusion of Season 2 is another open question, as is Renata’s (Jeffrey Nordling) ability to overcome the financial difficulties brought on by her husband Gordon’s (Jeffrey Nordling) gambling habit.
With her son Ziggy’s (Iain Armitage) approval, Jane’s relationship with Corey (Douglas Smith) advanced towards the conclusion of Season 2, although it’s unclear what type of person Corey ends up becoming among the suspicions surrounding him as an undercover officer.
