Biel liked the script so much, though, that she eventually decided she had to play Candy. Biel is right to point out the similarities between Candy Montgomery in Candy and Cora Tannetti in The Sinner, but since Biel was nominated for an Emmy for playing Cora Tannetti, that might not be a bad thing.
Candy Season 2 Storyline:
The conversation took a start as Allan, the husband of Betty begins to have a relationship with Candy, a suburban housewife. In this story, Betty gets pregnant, and Allan starts to pay more attention to Betty instead of Candy as they get ready to go to a wedding. After a hard fight with Candy, Betty was found dead at her house with 41 cuts from an axe. This is where the story comes to a head.
The police look into the matter which leads Candy to stand from across bars in court. To their surprise, Candy tries to defend herself by saying that her mother caused one of her past traumas and that she only did what she did to protect herself. The jury was instructed to find Candy exonerated of Betty’s death.
In the end, Candy was chosen, and the focus said, “So the next time you’re sad because you didn’t get what you wanted, all you have to do is wait. Even though God has anything even better for you”. When Sweets alters her moniker and becomes a therapist, the show comes to an end.
Candy Season 1 almost had a happy ending, and there is a chance that the show’s creators will change the plot for Season 2. As of now, we can only guess what will happen in the next season until we hear more.
