For this television series, it is said that they started out as two young individuals who were forced into prostitution while living in poverty. For me, it completely fails to operate.
The rationale for Camille’s response to Valmont doing much the same thing and using his older, betrayed paramour as leverage is also a stretch, as is Camille’s justification for becoming de Laclos’ Marquis de Merteuil. In this first episode, I also noticed that the actors lacked chemistry.
We are told they are in love at the start of the series, but we are not shown the way they came to be. Because Camille and Valmont had many sexual encounters, the spectator is supposed to think that they are in love.
Alright, then. Additionally, Camille’s maidservant hates Valmont for an unspecified reason and makes an effort to separate the two since the plot calls for it.

Lesley Manville is the sole explanation for why to watch this pointless nonsense. So depressing. By turning a tale about rich, bored, wicked individuals who kill others for amusement into romantic drivel, it disregards the original source. Read the book, play the game, or see the 1988 or 1989 movie adaptation of Valmont as a favor to yourself.
A more suitable revision of the story is even Cruel Intentions. It seems beautiful. The videography is excellent, and the costumes are exquisite. Sadly, a crude screenplay has squandered it all.
Please rename this software; it has nothing to do with Dangerous Liaisons. Instead, the program makes an effort to give them a Dickensian-era past.
They’re trying to relate them more, but I find it incredibly boring. Merteuil & Valmont are opulent snobs who despise other people. Aside from this, it is clear that the episode was well filmed.
The protagonist is a lovely female. I was still attempting to persuade the main character’s male. An excellent supporting cast is present. I’ll keep watching, but with moderate expectations.
