I’ve only just watched episode 2, but I’m already addicted. I didn’t know what to expect since I hadn’t read the book or seen the 2008 movie with the same name.
After ten minutes, I could tell it was going to be good because the setting was Naples, Italy, which is where the Camorra criminal family (whose name the author changed to Gamorra) is from.
The story centered on a novel published by Naples native Roberto Savino. I say alive because of the commotion he has caused, a bodyguard is now escorting him away. Even the local mob he wrote about did not share his opinion, despite the fact that the book he wrote was a best-seller.
Neither a Camorra nor a dwarf, in Savino’s words, “is Sicily’s mafia.” on the first episode, we initially met the crew and families and then quickly find ourselves on a backstreet where deals are made and beatings are given.
