When it premiered in 2020, “In/Spectre” was met with widespread acclaim. The road hasn’t been easy, however; the narrative technique of the second season was met with mixed reviews.

“In/Specter” will return for a second season, according to Kodansha. Part 2 of Kyokou Suiri, which will continue the plot from Volume 7 to Volume 12, will most likely premiere in the fall of 2021 or winter of 2022, but Kodansha has not yet confirmed this.

In/Spectre Season 3 Storyline:
As Kuro Sakuragawa was still reeling from his girlfriend’s breakup, a girl named Kotoko Iwanaga contacted him and confessed her love for him, saying they had met two years before.
She continues by explaining that she acts as a go-between in the actual and supernatural realms, similar to a Goddess of Wisdom. Kuro initially has his doubts, but after confronting a yōkai in a library and coming clean about his true nature (he is actually a monster with the abilities of immortality as well as near-absolute precognition, derived from eating two types of yōkai meat), Kuro agrees to assist Kotoko on her many adventures as the Goddess of Wisdom, who keeps the peace.
Japanese author Kyo Shirodaira’s 2011 supernatural romance book In/Spectre was released by Kodansha. Aside from the relationship between the protagonists, the plot revolves upon their interactions with yokai, magical creatures from Japanese mythology.
Kuro Sakuragawa encounters the mysterious Kotoko Iwanaga as he is getting over a relationship. Kotoko tells Kuro she loves him, saying they were instantly smitten the first time they met a decade ago.
Kotoko goes on to say that she is Yokai’s relative and that she is a Goddess of Wisdom. Even though Kuro is an abnormality himself, created by eating the flesh of two yokai, he still has questions about her identity.
The yokai meal this person consumed bestowed immortality and the gift of sight upon him. Both ultimately admit their identities during a library brawl with a bull ayakashi.
In the midst of their blossoming relationship, the unusual pair decides to assist each other in solving yokai crimes. A satisfying balance of romance and supernatural thrills characterizes In/Spectre. It was unusual to see such a combination of these two divisive genres as In/Spectre. That is why books, comics, and anime are so beloved.
The two will go on even more Yokai adventures in Season 2. Larger situations with higher stakes are shown in the teaser PVs. Once Yuki-Onna and Muroi are introduced, the beloved Yuki-onna storyline will also have its own limelight.
In Season 3, the interconnected realms of individuals as well as Youkai will be delved into more thoroughly. Fans can expect Kotoko Iwanaga & Kurou Sakuragawa, the show’s protagonists, to tackle new cases and encounter new obstacles, all while maintaining the show’s signature combination of detective job and supernatural aspects.
There is more than enough content in the original book and manga series to warrant at least one additional season. This abundance of material bodes well for the series’ upcoming episodes as it provides a variety of topics to go into.
The In/Spectre light book series was written by Kyo Shirodaira. Volume one of the series was drawn by Hiro Kyohara, while volume two saw Chasiba Katase step in. The series is published on Kodansha Taiga by Kodansha.
Not only that, but Chasiba Katase is responsible for the illustrations in the In/Spectre manga. Beginning April 2015, Kodansha began serializing the manga.
The first anime season premiered in 2020 and was created by Brain’s Base. Composing the series was Noboru Takagi, and directing it was Keiji Gotoh. The head of animation and character design was Takatoshi Honda.
