The series follows the plot of a police crime drama.
Murphy once discovered her buddy Tyson’s corpse while out on a stroll with her dog. She nevertheless chooses to look into her buddy Tyson’s murder on her own while carrying out her daily responsibilities since by the time the police show there, the dead corpse has vanished.
Murphy, a twenty-something introverted blind woman who chain smokes and engages in drunken hookups, has only Tyson, a young drug dealer who befriends her, to whom she can trust.
Murphy discovers what she thinks to be Tyson’s body one night while walking her dog, but after a police inquiry finds up nothing, she falls into a deep despair, which leads to her being discovered sleeping with a married man, Bradley, as well as losing her cane.
She runs into Darnell, Tyson’s cousin & supplier, who confirms that he is still alive when she goes back to his old spot. Bradley’s wife Gayle withdraws a gift she had given to Murphy’s parents, putting her at odds with her mother Joy, who has given up on attempting to assist her.
Murphy decides to work as a receptionist at her family’s dog school until she can make amends out of remorse. Murphy, who is furious because no one believes her claims about Tyson, decides to hunt down Tyson by using his phone’s GPS.
She alerts Dean, a helpful police officer, and Darnell, but neither encourages her to go into the matter further. Jess, Murphy’s roommate, informs her that she is certain Murphy will make an effort to crack the case.
Tyson’s mother, Rhonda, is able to report him missing, so Murphy tries to get in touch with her. She also finds out that her doctor won’t treat her bladder infection because of outstanding fees.
Murphy advises Chloe that her biological father should think about dating while speaking with Dean on the phone to get an update. Vanessa’s lack of affection for Jess worries Jess.
In order to generate money for the school that Joy anticipates her kid attending, Joy and Hank plan a “barkery” event. When Murphy asks Darnell for the address, he refuses to provide it. Instead, she schedules a one-hour meeting with Max, one of his friends, in order to learn more. Jade, a hooker from the station, is introduced to her father by Chloe.
To better her connection with Vanessa, Jess purchases a sex object. Murphy is taken to the shore by Max, who then gives her the location.
After seeing Tyson’s room, Murphy goes there and tells Rhonda the truth. While Tyson’s phone is totally erased, Dean tells Murphy that they can now go on with his case despite the fact that.
When Max arrives, he persuades her to join him for a drink. Murphy receives a fresh lead from Jess. Darnell lets Nia, his imprisoned employer, know that he’ll handle Murphy.
When Max confesses his affection for her during sex, Murphy pushes him away, injuring his genitalia in the process. When she and Jess go to talk with Tyson’s girlfriend, they are asked to leave the school grounds.
Later, Murphy persuades Felix to host an outreach activity at the school so she may get admission. When Max attempts to penetrate Murphy’s emotional barriers, she ejects him. Darnell tries to give Tyson’s mother part of the money he’s been collecting, but she refuses.
Felix is hesitant to speak to the pupils, but he discovers that he can relate to them when he pretends to be blind. When Murphy discovers Keira’s pals, he finds out that she has been skipping school.
She subsequently engages in sexual activity with a teacher, unwittingly revealing Felix’s deceit and causing him public humiliation. In order to make up for the embarrassing situation, Murphy offers Felix a smoke and counsels him to start advocating for himself. Murphy steps in to assist by roasting Chloe at the request as Dean attempts to support Chloe through her first menstruation.
When Keira sees Murphy, she confesses to him that Tyson cheated on her with Jamie and gives him her address. At the pub, Murphy runs into Max and realizes she actually desire to date him.
Murphy and Chloe utilize Dean’s police computer in an unauthorized manner to locate Jaime’s address, which is located six hours away in Wisconsin. She begs Max to take her as Jess is unable to do so, and she lies to Joyful to get out of a previous obligation.
She harshly declines his assistance, though, when Murphy becomes caught in a restroom stall and then almost gets struck by a vehicle. One of the trainers at the school won’t give up control of her guiding dog.

In The Dark Seasons 7 & 8 Review:
Everyone in the cast, including the lead, is likeable. It’s great to see them in their twenties instead of irritating teens on a CW show. With Netflix, it will now be seen by a larger audience. Despite my attempts to binge-watch it many times, I always went back to find out what occurred, and I’m happy I did.
Although it isn’t ground-breaking, it is a decent mystery with surprises that also succeeds in becoming a comedy or tragedy with likeable characters.
I’ve moved over the reality that Murphy is a horrible, abhorrent person. Yes, I have overcome the fact that it’s often difficult to believe she is blind. Yes, Pretzel and Max were the main reasons I like Season 1.
