An Indian discussion show presented by the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director, Koran Johar, Koffee with Karan is a phenomenon on its own. Over the course of its eighteen-year run, KJo’s “Spiciest Series” has gone from being just another talk show to one of the most anticipated television events of the year.
After Doordarshan’s Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan, it is considered India’s longest-running chat program. The Rapid Fire round’s victor receives a prize pack consisting of electrical devices, snacks, and a Koffee mug engraved with their name. Except for instances with a single guest, the program always concludes with the Koffee Quiz after the Rapid Fire round.
Koffee with Karan was created by Fazila Allana & Kamna Nirula Menezes as a side project. In 2004, the Star Plus network asked KJo to host the Star Parivaar Awards.
His response to the offer was, “I am okay with anchoring a show, but I’d prefer it be a chat show,” which indicates that he was not interested.
