For those who think in UFOs and conspiracies, Blue Book on the History Channel is likely something you’ve already seen. Of course, you want to know if the show will come back for a second season.
In real life, the US Air Force looked into strange flying items as part of Project Blue Book, which is what the television series is based on. The show was picked up for a second season by History upon February 10, 2019, with 10 episodes. The new season will start on January 21, 2020. in May 2020, History announced that the show was ending.
Project Blue Book Season 3 Release Date:
No network, not even History, has said when Season 3 of Project Blue Book will be out. Looking at the show’s current plan, however, it looks like the next episode might not air until 2022 or 2023.
But since the show was renewed early, we don’t think it will happen any sooner. So, Project Blue Book could come back for a third season in the fall or winter.

Project Blue Book Season 3 Storyline:
The TV show Project Blue Book is a history thriller built on the real-life Project Blue Book. When it came down to it, Project Blue Book was a hidden study of UFOs that the U.S. Air Force did in the 1950s and 1960s. It ended in January 1970.
The study’s two main goals were to find out if UFOs were a danger to national security as well as look at facts about UFOs. It was led by Dr. J. Allen Hynek (played by Aiden Gillen), an astrophysics professor who became a ufologist.
There were more than 12,000 reports of UFOs across the course of 20 years. The Condon Report from 1968 said that most of the results were wrong identifications of natural events and airplanes.
Even so, 701 reports from the project have still not been confirmed. The show is about the men who work on Project Blue Book and the way the government and people reacted to the sightings.
The plot summary for Project Blue Book says that Aidan Gillen plays Dr. Hynek, a smart but underappreciated college professor who is hired by the US Air Force to lead a secret operation called “Project Blue Book.”
He works with the slick Air Force Captain Quinn, portrayed by Michael Malarkey, as a partner. “Set against the backdrop of the Cold War as well as the coming of the Atomic Age, each episode is based on real “Project Blue Book” case files and combines UFO theories with real events from one of the most mysterious times in U.S. history.”
In 1952, Dr. J. Allen Hynek launched Project Blue Book, a US Air Force study into UFOs. He worked with Captain Michael Quinn to find out what happened after a pilot named Henry Fuller said he had a battle with an alien ship in Fargo.
These two people go to Fargo to see Fuller’s plane and talk to him. At the same time, Mimi, Allen’s wife, meets Susie Miller while she is shopping.
After some discussion, they first decide that Fuller saw an atmospheric balloon, but Hynek starts to question this explanation. Quinn picks Hynek up to show him he’s wrong and to re-create Fuller’s flight.
They crash in a field, where Hynek sees a strange figure that then vanishes. Hynek and Fuller have a disturbing talk in the hospital. Later, as he drives home, a strange black car follows him and takes him to an empty amusement park that looks like it’s hiding some kind of secret facility.
Susie goes after the Hyneks while Fuller gets taken from the hospital against his will. The UFO sighting depends on the Gorman fighting event in a broad way.
Based on real events, the story is about Dr. J. Allen Hynek, a smart college professor who gets recruited by the U.S. Air Force to look into thousands of strange cases that have been put together under the code name “Project Blue Book.” Also, at least 700 of them have still not been solved.
Every installment of Project Blue Book is about a different recorded UFO case that happened during one of the most strange times in US history.
Dr. Hynek’s changing views come to a head in the exciting season finale of Project Blue Book, which is called “The Washington Merry-Go-Round.”
In 1952, different reports of UFOs were recorded in Washington, D.C., from July 12 for July 29. This show recreates that event. This event is important to the story of Project Blue Book because it shows that Dr. Hynek has hit a turning point and is ready to lie to get what he wants from life.
In particular, he tells President Harry Truman along with other government leaders that the event on the Washington Mall has nothing to do with aliens.
For fans of Littlefinger, this scene is probably the most interesting because Gillen’s character in Game of Thrones lies all the time and uses them to his benefit.
From the last episode of Season 1 of Project Blue Book, it looks like Dr. Hynek has become a ufologist. Gillen even agreed with this idea, telling IGN, “This is the first time we see him as a UFOlogist instead of a government stooge.”
So, history has the freedom to both base Project Blue Book second season even more on real events and use some artistic license to make the story more interesting.
That is, Dr. Hynek’s life will get even more difficult as he tries to see the bigger picture beyond what he thinks are the facts. The way the story is going, it looks like Project Blue Book season 2 will be bigger, but only time can determine if loyal fans like how Dr. Hynek’s character changes.
