When Sandra Newton was murdered in the 1970s, DCI Paul Bethell, a rookie investigator, gave the investigation his whole attention. Sandra, a teenage girl from Neath Port Talbot, was viciously killed while walking home from her boyfriend’s house.

I agree with Geordie’s assessment of the program. The film’s audience was drawn in by its slow and even perplexing opening. The actor who portrayed Glenister’s younger self and Glenister both provided outstanding performances.
He and Glenister worked well together, and it was amazing to see the actor who played “Coaches” in Gavin & Stacey in such a significant role. The portrayal of the CID staff was really accurate, which pleased me as someone who worked in law enforcement throughout the 1970s.
Given that the play is based on real-life events, including murder, the show’s tone was suitably ominous. In a piece I read, it was described as four days of dull television.
