The Kidnapping Day Season 2 Storyline:

The only means by which they can see to free Myung-joon from jail is to look into the murder case, which Ro-hee hires Choi Dong-jun to do for Sang-yoon. Hye-eun takes Ro-hee’s laptop and takes it to Jayden, where the three immediately go to work.

Jayden praises her efforts and says he’ll forget over the money she stole from him, but Ro-hee chooses to press theft charges in order to recover her stolen laptop and necklace.

Meanwhile, a video analyst verifies for Sang-yoon that two persons were seen entering and leaving Ro-hee’s residence that the day of the event, as caught by the dashcam film.

However, Ro-hee works with the police to arrange for Hye-eun’s confession to be filmed at the residence of her grandpa, Choi Dong-eok. The goal is to have Hye-eun thinking about the past so she can open up and admit something. When she’s ready to go ahead with her plan, she phones Hye-eun and has her come over to the home.

Sang-yoon frees Myung-joon from jail the next day so that he, too, might see Hye-eun in her truth the day after. When Hye-eun gets there, Ro-hee calls her out to the garden, where she spots the camera mounted on the tree & deduces his true motives.

She discusses Myung-joon and Hee-ae, revealing that rumors of their romance were propagated after she pressured her dad into giving her money.

But Hye-eun is concerned that Ro-hee will recall every detail of what happened to her on that night. Ro-hee then describes what occurred later that night, saying that Hye-eun was apprehended while attempting to steal Choi Jin-tae’s study from his safe.

Hye-eun then spotted a knife in his grasp and his wife’s dead on the floor, and he said that he would fabricate a scenario in which she and his wife had fought and murdered each other.
