Miralda adapted the 1980s book into The Nutty Boy comics, which have now produced over 4 copies across ten different countries and served as the basis for two films and a TV show. Netflix claims that the show will include current events and introduce new personalities to join Maluquinho, “the renowned child with the a pan on his head.”

Produced by Christina Schultz and Bruno Olio, directed by Beta Gonzalez and Michelle Masala, and with visual style by Beta Keller and Walker Fernandes, the programmer was created by Charon for Netflix. Fits is in charge of directing the animation, and Gustavo Suzuki is the primary author.
